
Born in 1909, Jimmy Jackson is a fluent speaker of the Hupa language. He is a retired BIA judge and police officer. Jimmy shared his knowledge of the Fish Dam ceremony and his memories as an old-time stick player. Jimmy is often asked to give the blessing in the Hupa language at events and gatherings in Hoopa, Ca. His Living Biographies program aired in May of 2001.
