
Aileen Figueroa is a basket weaver and teacher who has worked to educate about her culture for many decades. She is a traditional singer and is well-known for sharing her songs at community gatherings and events. Aileen is wearing her Brush Dance ceremonial cap made by her mother and is holding a miniature eel basket she herself made in this picture. Aileen and her granddaughter Ashley Bones were featured in the April, 2001 edition of the Living Biographies. Ashleys sister Cynthia was the videographer.
