Holocaust Survivors- This photo shows a group of boys at the Hoopa Valley boarding school. Girls and boys were segregated most of the time at the centers. These boys' expressions suggest they are being forced under threat of punishment to take this picture. They could also be in shock; they are from many different tribes and regions from across northern California and not allowed to speak their native language to anyone.
