Legacy of Hydraulic Mining- Water cannons were used to literally carve valleys where mountains once stood. Hydraulic miners did not often recognize the natural beauty and wealth of areas where they mined. They focused on finding gold. Note the three people standing to the left of the crack at the bottom of the picture.
