| Many thanks to members of the Indian Teacher and Educational Personnel Program at Humboldt State University for contributing research and interviews with elders that helped make the Gold Rush booklet, Gold Rush Exhibit, and now virtual exhibit possible. (Their names are located on the footnotes page.) Most of all we thank Laura Lee George, Director of ITEPP for providing the vision for these projects and inspiring us to continue producing educational materials to make up for the lack of genuine native perspectives found in the media and public school curricula. | September of 1998- Coordinators of Original Voices, Rebecca Haff (Lenape) and Chag Lowry (Yurok, Maidu, Pit River), at the opening night of the Indigenous Northwestern Gold Rush Experience Exhibit, at the Clarke Museum, Eureka, CA. The exhibit was funded by the Seventh Generation Fund, the Humboldt Area Foundation and the California Council for the Humanities. |
